Plant Engineering Co-op Student

Under the supervision of the Mechanical Engineering Team and with mentoring from senior engineers, this position will support the Engineering Department by performing the duties described below.

• Contributes value-added work in applying engineered solutions to enhance the productivity and reliability of manufacturing equipment.
• Typical activities include creating and modifying 2-D drawings and 3-D models of machine components, researching commercially available parts, and assisting in implementing and testing prototype modifications.
• Interfaces with engineers concerning the design, implementation, and maintenance of equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems to ensure all are process-capable, available, reliable, and sustainable.
• Assignments will increase in complexity based on demonstrated proficiency and experience.
• Other tasks as may be assigned.

• Demonstrated ability to analyze data and model systems, formulate and test hypotheses, and prototype and validate solutions.
• Demonstrated proficiency in the design and specification of components to solve real-world problems.
• Clear, concise, professional communication with peers and associates.

• Enrolled in an accredited Bachelor of Engineering or Engineering Technology program.
• Accepted into the co-operative education program of the college or university.
