Responsibilities
  • Advise clients on a full spectrum of corporate and individual tax services including planning, research, compliance, provision work, and mergers and acquisitions activities, and assist with new business development related to these tax services
  • Recognize, research, and recommend resolutions for moderate to complex tax issues
  • Carry out research and analyze tax consequences to determine appropriate tax treatment of domestic and international taxation specifically in consolidated tax returns and reorganization
  • Conduct tax due diligence and prepare reports
  • Work as a part of a multi‑disciplinary team that focuses on helping to provide industry knowledge and experience
  • Develop, motivate, and train staff‑level team members
Qualifications
  • Minimum eight years of recent public accounting and/or corporate tax experience
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; licensed CPA, EA or JD/LLM, in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing; any individual who does not possess at least one of the approved designations/credentials when their employment commences, has one year from their date of hire to obtain at least one of the approved designations/credentials; should you like to see the complete list of currently approved designations/credentials for the hiring practice/service line, your recruiter can provide you with that list
  • Fluent in both English and Japanese
  • Knowledge of a broad range of corporate tax matters, including provision and advisory experience, with a working knowledge of the application of ASC 740
  • Excellent research and writing skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information
  • Ability to handle multiple engagements and client service teams
