Hybrid in Northern GA (onsite 1x/week). Candidates may be based anywhere in GA if they can commute to Commerce once a week. Work from the Alpharetta office is also possible.

The OpportunityWe are a community‑focused financial institution combining traditional banking with modern fintech solutions. The bank supports fintech partnerships, providing backend support for prepaid card programs, tax programs, and upcoming consumer lending initiatives. The Sr. Accountant, Fintech will own and manage the full lifecycle of these programs, serving as a subject matter expert and performing hands‑on accounting, reconciliation, and operational tasks. This is an opportunity to work in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment with direct client interaction and the chance to influence program operations and growth.
Over time, the role may transition into a leadership position with potential direct reports but will start as a hands‑on individual contributor.
- Lead full lifecycle management of fintech programs, including onboarding, reconciliation, funds flow management, and operational oversight.
- Create and implement accounting processes for new programs, including documentation, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Perform daily, high-volume reconciliations related to prepaid cards, payment processing, and fintech activity.
- Prepare and post daily and monthly journal entries, ensuring compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and banking regulations.
- Analyze transaction‑level data to identify anomalies or inconsistencies and assist in resolving issues.
- Develop deep understanding of program structures, processor systems, and operational workflows.
- Share knowledge and best practices across the accounting team to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Participate in client calls and collaborate directly with clients to support program operations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and adoption of automation tools as applicable.
- 8–10 years of professional experience in full‑cycle accounting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, data analysis, and fund flow modeling.
- High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
- Hands‑on professional capable of managing high‑volume reconciliations, prepaid card accounting, and payment processing platforms.
- Background in banking, financial services, or fintech preferred.
- Experience with network settlement, Silver link, prepaid programs, or tax programs is a plus.
- Familiarity with automation tools and process improvements desirable.
- The company cannot sponsor a Visa.
- Must be able to commute to Commerce, GA once per week.
