This SVP of Capital Markets role presents a rare opportunity to shape capital strategy and foster relationships with top-tier institutional investors, industry partners, and financial institutions—delivering substantial impact on portfolio growth and execution across strategic markets.
Responsibilities- Maintain and cultivate relationships with existing key lenders and financial representatives.
- Initiate and expand banking relationships to strengthen the firm’s debt capital markets network.
- Identify, structure, and implement best practices for raising new capital, including lines of credit and investment management vehicles.
- Collaborate closely with multifaceted development teams to anticipate and address capital needs throughout pre-development and execution phases.
- Review and validate underwriting assumptions, ensuring feasibility for all real estate transactions.
- Develop strategies around guarantees, net worth, and liquidity to optimize deal structures.
- Manage capital intermediary relationships and oversee essential capital raising processes, including offering memoranda, negotiations, and investor outreach.
- Review term sheets, key loan documents, and lead deal closing calls.
- Direct refinance and recapitalization initiatives and ensure successful execution of related transactions.
- Evaluate joint venture agreements and associated documentation with both Limited Partner and Co-General Partner investors.
- Monitor portfolio performance, maintain lender schedules, and oversee guarantee tracking for ongoing developments.
- Enhance investor and lender relationship management systems, incorporating modern software solutions.
- Represent the firm in domestic and international capital markets engagements as needed.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in real estate, capital markets, or institutional fundraising.
- Track record of successfully raising capital for commercial and residential real estate investments.
- Deep understanding of debt and equity structuring, including joint venture agreements and recapitalizations.
- Strong underwriting and financial analysis capabilities.
- Expertise in investor relations, reporting, and negotiation of financial terms.
- Experience with software platforms for investor and lender relationship management.
- Established network of institutional investors, private equity, and capital intermediaries.
- Familiarity with ground-up development processes in office, hospitality, residential, and industrial sectors.
- Cross-border capital markets exposure and international fundraising experience.
- Background in fund formation, investment management platforms, or mortgage banking.
