SPECIALTY DISTRIBUTION & BUSINESS SERVICESOur Specialty Distribution & Business Services groups have a long-tenured team of experts who bring sector and execution expertise to middle market founder-owned and institutionally backed businesses. Our senior bankers have strong relationships across a variety of distribution and services sectors, with sub-sector areas of focus including engineered products, industrial supplies and equipment, automotive aftermarket, commercial and residential services, professional services and other tech-enabled services.
We have extensive experience conducting successful M&A transactions on both the buy-side and sell-side, as well as equity and debt capital raises.
As an Associate at Stephens, you will play a central role on deal teams, helping drive live engagements, mentor analysts and develop the judgment and leadership expected of senior investment banking professionals. Associates are entrusted with important work streams across financial analysis, due diligence and the creation and presentation of client materials. These tasks include:
- Driving transaction execution in collaboration with other deal team members
- Developing and reviewing financial models, valuation analyses, comparable company analysis and other transaction-related analyses
- Creating and presenting client-facing materials, including Confidential Information Presentations, management presentations, and marketing pitches
- Helping plan and execute live engagements, including due diligence, process management and coordination with clients and other counter parties
- Conducting company, industry, buyer/investor and market research
- Training, mentoring and developing analysts
- Building relationships and maintaining direct contact with current and prospective clients
- 2+ years of Investment Banking experience or an MBA plus 1 year of Investment Banking Associate experience.
- Experience advising companies in the Industrials & Services industries a plus
- Strong analytical, financial modeling and valuation skills, including the ability to review and guide analyst work product
- Demonstrated ability to manage work streams and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- High level of personal integrity, accountability and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
