If you know the difference between simply servicing a wealth management client and truly owning the client experience, keep reading.
San Blas Securities is looking for an experienced Client Service Associate / Financial Planning Associate to join our growing private wealth management practice. And just to be clear: this is not your traditional back-office CSA role.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys being in the middle of the action: working directly with high-net-worth individuals and families, building and maintaining financial plans, coordinating investment activity, anticipating client needs, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks.
What You'll Do:You'll work directly with the firm's CEO and lead financial advisor, alongside an external investment consultant and institutional asset-management partners.
On any given day, you could be:
- Serving as a primary day-to-day contact for high-net-worth clients
- Building, updating, and maintaining comprehensive financial plans
- Preparing cash-flow analyses, retirement projections, household balance sheets, and planning materials
- Keeping client objectives, risk tolerances, liquidity needs, and investment information current
- Preparing clients and the advisory team for portfolio and financial-planning reviews
- Coordinating account openings, transfers, distributions, contributions, RMDs, beneficiary changes, and other client requests
- Working with custodians and broker-dealer platforms to keep accounts moving smoothly
- Partnering with clients' CPAs, attorneys, insurance professionals, and other outside advisors
- Coordinating with the firm's investment consultant on portfolio implementation and changes
- Tracking meeting follow-ups and making sure action items don't disappear into the dreaded "I'll circle back" abyss
- Maintaining accurate CRM records and client documentation
- Proactively identifying client needs before the client has to ask
In short: you'll help connect the dots between financial planning, investments, and an exceptional client experience.
What We're Looking For:We're looking for someone who has already spent meaningful time working with sophisticated wealth management clients. Ideally, you bring:
- 3+ years of experience in wealth management, financial planning, private banking, an RIA, broker-dealer, family office, or similar environment
- Direct experience working with high-net-worth individuals and families
- Hands-on financial planning experience, including building or maintaining plans, cash-flow analysis, and retirement projections
- Familiarity with taxable investment accounts, retirement accounts, trusts, and estate-planning concepts
- Experience working with custodians and/or broker-dealer platforms
- Strong CRM and organizational skills
- Excellent client communication and relationship-management abilities
- The ability to juggle multiple client relationships and priorities without dropping the proverbial ball
- Deeper experience owning the financial-planning process
- Series 7 and Series 66, or equivalent licensing
- CFP® designation or actively pursuing the CFP®
If you're looking for a position where you'll spend your career processing paperwork behind the scenes, this probably isn't it.
If you want more client exposure, more involvement in financial planning, more visibility into investment strategy, and a path toward greater ownership of client relationships, now we're talking.
San Blas Securities combines institutional investment models + customized portfolio construction + comprehensive financial planning + high-touch relationship management. As the practice grows, so can your role. The right person will have the opportunity to take on increasing ownership of client relationships and potentially expand into broader…
