Job Description & How to Apply Below
A well-established real estate investment platform is seeking a Senior Analyst / Associate to join its Commercial Real Estate Debt team. The firm invests across commercial real estate debt and equity, with a focus on opportunistic investments, transitional assets, acquisitions, land development, and ground-up construction financing. This is an opportunity to join an active investment platform and gain exposure to the full lifecycle of commercial real estate debt investments, from initial underwriting and deal structuring through execution and portfolio management.
Key Responsibilities- Underwrite and evaluate commercial real estate debt investment opportunities across a range of asset classes.
- Build and maintain financial models to assess property cash flows, loan sizing, debt service coverage, loan-to-value ratios, and debt yield.
- Analyze property-level financials, market fundamentals, sponsorship, and borrower creditworthiness.
- Assist with structuring and executing real estate loans, including bridge financing, construction loans, and other asset-backed lending opportunities.
- Conduct due diligence on prospective transactions, including reviewing rent rolls, operating statements, appraisals, market studies, and third-party reports.
- Prepare investment memoranda, credit analyses, and presentations for internal investment committees.
- Coordinate with borrowers, brokers, lenders, legal counsel, and other transaction participants throughout the closing process.
- Monitor existing investments, evaluate portfolio performance, and support ongoing asset management and credit oversight.
- Identify and assess potential risks and recommend appropriate investment structures and risk mitigation strategies.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in commercial real estate debt, lending, credit underwriting, real estate finance, or a related investment role.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, including the ability to assess property cash flows and evaluate debt investment opportunities.
- Familiarity with commercial real estate lending metrics, including LTV, DSCR, debt yield, and loan sizing.
- Exposure to commercial real estate transactions, loan underwriting, or credit analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present investment recommendations clearly.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced investment environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field. This role offers the opportunity to deepen technical underwriting expertise while developing a broader understanding of real estate debt investments and the commercial real estate lending market.
