Overview
Physical Therapist / PRN role at Emory Healthcare. PRN rate $60.50 hourly plus shift differential.
Hours:
Some weekdays (when staff request off), weekends and holidays. Inpatient rehabilitation experience is a plus.
Provides comprehensive evaluations, treatments and education to patients/families consistently with individualized needs within an interdisciplinary environment. Maintains an established inventory of supplies, ensures proper use and maintenance of equipment, and keeps a work area free of debris and clutter. Communicates regularly with the patient care team, patients, family members and other stakeholders. Assesses patients and identifies problems. Instructs and trains patients and families regarding pertinent aspects of patient care.
Plans, develops and implements a result‑oriented treatment plan responsive to individualized needs, including clear, measurable goals. Modifies treatment plans based on patient responses. Plans treatment schedules that optimize use of staff and equipment for high‑quality patient services. Provides direct patient care and performs specialized treatments per the individualized plan of care. Follows established protocols for documentation, records daily charges, and practices sterile technique and infection control in daily duties.
- Graduation from a Physical Therapy school accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
- Licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Georgia
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification in accordance with the American Heart Association
Medium‑heavy lifting up to 75 lbs; carrying up to 35 lbs; frequent standing, walking, sitting; close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing). Physical demands may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks.
Environmental FactorsExposure to blood‑borne pathogens, biohazardous waste, chemicals, electrical shock, temperature extremes, indoor/outdoor conditions, latex, lighting, patient care injuries, radiation. Shift work and travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, is expected.
