The National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH) - Public Health Analyst I
National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH), headquartered near the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is seeking a Public Health Analyst I to support an engagement for Government - Federal (USA) Sector Clients. The NCEH Division of Environmental Health Science and Practice (DEHSP) prevents exposures to environmental health hazards to improve the health of all people in all communities through applied environmental public health science and practice.
The mission of the National Environmental Public Health Tracking Program (Tracking Program) is to provide information from a nationwide network of integrated health and environmental data that drives actions to improve the health of communities. The Tracking Network is a multi-tiered, web-based system with components at national, state, and local levels. In collaboration with federal, state, and local partners, the Tracking Program identifies priority environmental health issues, determines key surveillance questions, and evaluates the utility of existing data for answering the question and informing the issue.
The Public Health Analyst I will have overall responsibility for contract activities: planning, organizing, directing, controlling, staffing and reporting status, deliverables and schedules to the Government. As various Task Orders are issued, the Analyst will ensure deliverables are compliant with the Task Order in terms of budget, schedule, and quality. The Analyst may oversee several Task Orders simultaneously and will provide technical assistance services to support the Tracking Program’s mission.
The role includes facilitating and coordinating the technical teams across functional thematic areas, organizing online meetings, developing agendas, providing virtual meeting audio and webinar services, facilitating meetings, taking notes, and conducting virtual and in‑person meetings, training, and seminars as needed. The Analyst will assist program in strategic and annual planning by obtaining and synthesizing feedback, maintain knowledge management by completing and organizing documentation, and maintain a secure web-based site to host program documents and tools.
Majority of the work is completed via telework, with exceptions for major program meetings.
Public Health Analyst I work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and compliant with established criteria. The Analyst will ensure duties are performed in a competent and professional manner that meets milestones and delivery schedules as outlined.
Required Skills and ExperienceTen (5) or more years of relevant experience in business management, informatics, data science, bio‑statistics, epidemiology, health education, and communication. Additionally, experience in program development, strategic planning, evaluation, facilitation, partnerships, and project management. Technically competent with Microsoft Products 2016 or later; ability to define all project activities and milestones, sequence tasks, estimate effort, determine critical path, and level the project schedule.
