Respiratory Therapist II – NICU

  • Full-Time, Part-Time, PRN available
  • $34-$55 plus shift & specialty differentials, if applicable
  • Day, Night, Varied Shifts Available

We’re seeking an experienced and dedicated Respiratory Therapist II (RT II) with NICU experience to join our dynamic respiratory care team. In this advanced-level role, you’ll provide specialized respiratory care to patients with complex conditions, primarily in critical care and neonatal intensive care settings. This position involves independent clinical judgment, ventilator management, and patient education, while contributing to staff development and continuous quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Administer respiratory therapies, including aerosolized medications, bronchial hygiene, oxygen, and medical gas therapy.
  • Manage invasive and non-invasive ventilators, interpret waveforms, and assist with airway management (intubation, extubation, trach care).
  • Conduct arterial blood gas sampling and analysis.
  • Educate patients, families, and clinical staff on respiratory health and treatments.
  • Support new staff and students through mentorship and training.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and promote a safe, high-quality care environment.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (CoARC or CAAHP required)
  • Associate’s Degree required;
    Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and Respiratory Care Practitioner license required
  • BLS and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
  • Minimum 6 months of critical care experience required
  • Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills
