• Assists in the ongoing development and administration of hospital and department quality improvement programs.
• Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Maintains equipment and storage areas in a clean and organized manner.
• Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury‑accident to Manager.
• Maintains sterile technique and universal precautions.
• May assist in gathering supplies and preparation of equipment prior to surgery.
• May participate in the cleaning and disinfecting of surgical rooms following the procedures.
• Assists with moving and transporting patients.
• Transports equipment, supplies, blood, and specimens.
• Stocks unit supplies.
• Enters charges, bed requests and patient logs into computer.

• Other duties as assigned by supervision.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must hold American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification.

• One (1) year of experience as a support technician.
• Visual color acuity as required for specific units.
