We're seeking Sterile Processing Technicians to join our talent pool of professionals committed to excellence and patient safety. As a key team member, you will ensure the safe and effective reprocessing of surgical instruments and equipment according to Emory Healthcare standards and national regulatory guidelines. Your responsibilities include:

• Providing on-site support for surgical instrument reprocessing in line with TJC, OSHA, CDC, AAMI, AORN standards and facility policies
• Handling decontamination, cleaning, assembly, wrapping, sterilization, and storage of reusable medical supplies
• Communicating effectively and professionally with hospital and staff
• Participating in orientation and on-the-job training of new staff when directed
• Reporting broken instruments and low par levels of SPD consumables
• Promoting lean work environment concepts and following dress code requirements
• Supporting and adhering to IMS and facility policies and procedures

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of a Sterile Processing/Surgical Technologist program preferred
• Basic computer skills and aptitude required
• Active certification in sterile processing/central sterile via CBSPD or IAHCSMM, or two years of relevant experience in lieu of certification
• Extensive knowledge of instrumentation
• Ability to act as a resource for staff in SPD and OR regarding identification and assembly of specialty instruments and trays
• Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment daily
• Ability to perform tasks simultaneously while maintaining quality
• May be required to work various shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime hours
