Referral and Scheduling Coordinator
This role schedules and pre‑registers patients for exams and procedures with specialists and providers outside the primary care physician's office. The Coordinator performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments, including computations. Typically works on semi‑routine assignments. The Coordinator gathers and communicates all relevant information and preparation instructions to patients and referring providers. Decisions are typically focused on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments.
The Coordinator works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, with some latitude over prioritization/timing, working under minimal direction.
- Less than 3 years of hands‑on healthcare experience in a clinical setting, preferably within the Medicare population
- Proficient with medical terminology
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records
- Excellent professional communication abilities at all levels within the organization and with patients
- This role is patient‑facing and part of the company’s Tuberculosis (TB) screening program; TB screening required if selected
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
- Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration
- Knowledge of ICD‑10 and CPT coding
- Referral experience
- Medical Assistant or Professional State Certifications related to healthcare
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
$39,000 – $49,400 per year
