- Build a strong Speech Language Therapy program.
- Optimize the functionality and skills of patients.
- Evaluate and treat residents based on written orders from physicians.
- Screen facility residents.
- Complete all necessary documentation.
- Attend all required meetings and in-services, including family meetings, care plans, staffing, and utilization review.
- Develop programs appropriate to the needs of facility residents in collaboration with the Director of Rehabilitation.
- Follow all infection control procedures and environmental protocols, adhering to OBRA Resident’s Rights Guidelines.
- Provide consultation and clinical supervision to SLP-CFY.
- Maintain a valid state license and stay informed about issues related to the SLP profession and healthcare environment.
- Manage resident scheduling appropriately.
- Facilitate and complete family and staff in-services and education.
- Assist the facility in meeting standards necessary to maintain state and federal certification.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager or supervisor.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Maintain professionalism in all situations.
- Strong time management skills and caseload management ability.
- Physical demands include performing duties requiring moderate to heavy physical effort, such as pushing/pulling up to 300 lbs, standing, sitting, squatting, stooping, trunk twisting, kneeling, reaching, stair climbing, walking, grasping, fine motor tasks, and lifting.
- Master's of Science Degree in Speech Language Pathology or Speech and Hearing Sciences.
- State licensure or proof of registration to complete Clinical Fellowship year in Speech Pathology, followed by certification.
- ASHA certification or proof of certification through grandfathering process.
- Senior Living experience preferred.
- PDPM knowledge.
- Experience with therapy software/EMR.
- Medicaid case mix knowledge.
