Location: Kaiser Permanente Regional Office (3495 Piedmont Road, NE, Atlanta, GA 30305)
Term: temporary position for up to 1-year, on-site M-F, as needed
The Clinical Ops Support Specialist, within TSPMG’s Operations and Strategy department, is a contracted hourly position, reporting to the Director of Perioperative Services, Operations and Strategy. The Clinical Ops Support Specialist is responsible for managing patient referrals, ensuring high quality patient care via timely access to services. Work will include reviewing referrals against specialty-specific clinical pathways, within the context of service and access standards.
This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining accuracy and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions- Reviews and processes specialty referrals for select departments to determine the optimal place of service for each patient, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and patient convenience.
- Routinely meets with designated Director, Practice Management Coordinator, TSPMG and HP Administrative leaders, Physician Leaders and health plan stakeholders to ensure service and access standards are being maintained.
- Reviews and assesses access reports to determine capacity and escalates outliers to management, as needed.
- Communicates with leadership, clinicians, and external facilities, as needed.
- Ensures compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
- Additional operational support, as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, or other similar bachelor’s degree
- Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and work within firm deadlines.
- Ability to establish positive, professional relationships with senior leadership and management team members.
- Work experience in large multi-specialty medical group practices.
- Experience in referral processing.
- Proficiency in Epic EMR system.
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
