Job DescriptionTo implement and deliver Child Passenger Safety and Injury Prevention Education programs to families/care providers and staff. To proactively support the efforts that ensures delivery of safe patient care and services. To promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

- No minimum experience required
- Two years experience as a Certified Passenger Safety Technician (CPS)
- Five years related work experience in program implementation and delivery
- Bi-lingual, English/Spanish
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Currently Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPS)
- Special Needs and Wheelchair Certification required within one year of hire
- Current and valid Georgia state driver’s license
Skills And Abilities
- Demonstrated success in program implementation and delivery
- Demonstrated interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of computers and computer software programs such as Outlook, Access, and Microsoft Word
- Ability to deal with a very high volume of work;
Must possess a high energy level for a fast-paced environment
- Implements and delivers quality patient and staff education following the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Child Passenger Safety Technician standards and the American Academy of Pediatrics Guidelines.
- Remains current on CPS issues, including conventional and special needs devices and vehicle occupant restraint systems.
- Correctly identifies medical conditions and procedures requiring special transportation devices.
- Contributes to developing and implementing hospital-wide safe transportation policies.
- Develops and distributes current, accurate patient education materials to families that are written at the appropriate reading level.
- Communicates and collaborates with Special Needs program staff and all other hospital staff as needed.
- Responds to discharge needs of families in a timely manner.
- Processes paperwork and enters data into the databases correctly.
