Conducts independent and objective investigations to obtain evidence of reported fraud, abuse, mismanagement, waste, or other violations of rules, regulations, or policies of the Georgia Department of Public Health. In addition, conducts background checks for employees, interns, and volunteers.
Applicant preferably to live in the following counties:
Gwinnett, Hall, or Forsyth
- Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Serves as job expert or organization resource in assigned areas.
- Assists in developing and administering policies, procedures, and plans.
- Assists in preparing comprehensive and detailed reports of investigation.
- Conducts investigations to ascertain facts and obtain evidence on alleged violations and misconduct; interviews witnesses and obtains statements.
- Monitors compliance with terms of licensure.
- Compiles and prepares summary reports, maintains case files and documentation of case resolutions, and tracking data for legal requirements.
- Conducts WIC Vendor Monitoring visits to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Investigates complaints of frauds of abuse.
- Conducts WIC Vendor background investigations.
High school diploma/GED and two (2) years of job-related experience.
Note:
Some positions may require a valid driver's license.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR associate’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of related experience.
Additional InformationState of Georgia employees are subject to the rules of the State Personnel Board regarding salary.
DPH accepts educational credentials recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) as valid. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degrees, diplomas, licensures, and other relevant credentials.
The candidate selected for this position may be subject to pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.
