SummaryThe candidate is responsible for providing nutritional care to patients through nutrition screening, assessment, counseling, metabolic monitoring, and communication with interdisciplinary team members. This is an inpatient, clinical dietitian role.
THIS IS AN ONSITE POSITION NOT REMOTE OR TELEHEALTH.
HoursMonday–Friday with a start time between 7:00–8:30 AM and an end time between 3:30–5:00 PM. Total: 8.5 hour day (30 minute lunch break).
Rotating weekendsEach dietitian works either Saturday or Sunday approximately every 3–4 weeks, with a weekday off during that week.
TrainingEPIC training.
Experience preferred- Inpatient, Clinical experience in a hospital setting
- Calculating enteral nutrition recommendations
- Calculating parenteral nutrition recommendations
- Complete initial nutrition assessments in accordance with departmental policies and guidelines.
- Develop and implement evidence-based nutrition care plans tailored to patients.
- Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of Medical Nutrition Therapy interventions and follow up appropriately.
- Perform Nutrition Focused Physical Exams to determine risk or degree of malnutrition.
- Assess patients for food security and provide resources as appropriate.
- Work with the interdisciplinary care team to optimize patient care.
- Provide education to patients and families on nutrition recommendations while taking into consideration cultural needs and readiness to learn.
- Attend interdisciplinary rounds or meetings assigned.
- Manage parenteral nutrition support for patients.
- Participate in departmental Journal Clubs and education sessions to improve knowledge and skills.
- Participate in quality and productivity improvement projects.
- Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from an accredited institution.
- Masters degree from an accredited institution if you became a dietitian after January 1st, 2024.
- Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- Licensed by Georgia's State Board of Licensed Dietitians Commission on Dietetic Registration.
