The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides behavior analytic services under the close supervision of a Teacher and Program Administrator in Fulton County Schools Specialized Behavior Support Program classrooms and home settings. The RBT collects data, implements behavior plans, and supports instruction of social, emotional, and behavioral skills.
Responsibilities- Implement specific behavior plans as assigned by the Teacher/Behavior Interventionist.
- Collect and analyze data to monitor student progress and inform instruction.
- Assist with parent training and direct implementation of behavior plans.
- Support classroom instruction and classroom activities under teacher supervision.
- Assist with functional behavior assessments and skill acquisition plans.
- Maintain accurate records and submit them in a timely manner.
- Participate in required training and professional development.
- Perform clerical duties such as data entry and record keeping as needed.
- Maintain positive relationships with staff, students, parents, and community agencies.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment (minimum score 250) within one year of hire.
- Must obtain a Georgia PSC Paraprofessional Certificate within one year of hire.
- Must complete RBT certification requirements.
- 0‑2 years experience required; 3‑5 years preferred.
- Classroom experience and/or proven ability to work with children.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and flexibility.
- Technology proficiency (computers, AV, office equipment, etc.).
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions accurately and quickly.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to lift and carry 30‑50 pounds and push or pull a maximum of 50 pounds.
- Ability to use approved physical management techniques when necessary.
