The Fox Theatre in Atlanta is seeking professional, high-energy Private Event Bartenders with excellent communication skills to serve unique cocktails and exciting new beverages to our guests.
OverviewThe Private Events Bartender plays a versatile and essential role in ensuring the seamless execution of private events at the Fox Theatre. This position requires a dynamic individual who can adapt to different service roles, including bartender, barback, passer, or clearer, depending on the needs of each event. The Private Events Bartender is responsible for delivering exceptional hospitality, maintaining high service standards, and enhancing the overall guest experience at private events, VIP gatherings, and special functions.
Responsibilities- Provide exceptional service in various roles, including bartending, barback support, food passing, and table clearing, based on event needs.
- Greet guests warmly and professionally, ensuring a welcoming and memorable experience.
- Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to service requests while maintaining a high level of hospitality.
- Prepare and serve a variety of cocktails, wine, beer, and non‑alcoholic beverages efficiently and accurately.
- Follow responsible alcohol service policies and ensure compliance with all local and state regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area, restocking as necessary throughout the event.
- Process transactions if applicable, ensuring accuracy in credit card handling.
- Assist bartenders by stocking glassware, beverages, garnishes, and other necessary items before and during service.
- Ensure bar stations remain clean, organized, and well‑supplied throughout the event.
- Help set up and break down bar and beverage service areas as needed.
- Pass wines and specialty cocktails with attention to presentation and timing.
- Provide brief descriptions of beverage offerings to guests, ensuring accuracy and enthusiasm.
- Assist with tray service and ensure seamless coordination with management and event staff.
- Maintain clean and tidy event spaces by clearing glassware and trash efficiently.
- Reset tables, bars, and lounge areas according to event specifications.
- Assist in post‑event breakdown and cleanup, ensuring event areas are restored to proper condition.
- Communicate effectively with event managers and fellow service staff to ensure a coordinated service experience.
- Maintain a polished and professional appearance that aligns with Fox Theatre's high service standards.
- Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines, ensuring compliance with health codes and internal policies.
- Adapt quickly to last‑minute changes and evolving event dynamics with a positive and proactive attitude.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications Required
- 1+ years of experience in hospitality, catering, banquets, bar service, or event operations.
- Strong multitasking skills with the ability to switch between roles as needed.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods in a fast‑paced environment.
- Knowledge of responsible alcohol service policies and local liquor laws.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Skills & Qualifications Preferred
- Experience in high‑end hospitality, private events, or entertainment venues.
- Certification in responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS). Food handling certification (e.g., Serv Safe).
- Familiarity with luxury service standards and fine dining etiquette.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Customer Service Experience.
- Basic Knowledge of Food Safety and Hygiene Practices.
- 6 months to 1 year of experience in a food service or hospitality setting.
- Serv Safe Certification or Equivalent.
- Previous Experience in High‑Volume Event or Catering Settings.
- 1–2 Years of Food and Beverage Experience.
- Experience working in higher‑end venues, private clubs, or premium guest service environments.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time.
