CoStar Real Estate Manager – Site Reliability Engineer

CoStar Group is a leading global provider of real estate information, analytics, and online marketplaces. The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will join our high‑impact SaaS infrastructure team to maintain and scale the reliability, security, and performance of our hybrid cloud platform.

Atlanta, GA – 4 days onsite, 1 day remote.

• Manage and support production and staging environments running Windows Server 2019/2022 and Ubuntu Linux across on‑prem (VMware) and AWS cloud platforms.
• Administer and optimize VMware vSphere and vCenter environments for performance, reliability, and resource efficiency.
• Build and maintain robust monitoring, alerting, and observability systems to ensure 99.9%+ SLA for SaaS applications; implement auto‑scaling, self‑healing infrastructure components and automate toil.
• Develop and run chaos engineering experiments and load testing to simulate production‑like conditions.
• Integrate and manage SAML‑based authentication for enterprise customers (Ping Federate); collaborate with product and security teams to secure authentication, authorization, and provisioning flows.
• Coordinate with DBA team for SQL Server 2019/2022 instances; automate routine database operations and advise on query performance.
• Configure and maintain Checkpoint firewalls and VPN solutions; enforce network segmentation, secure egress, and intrusion prevention.
• Participate in 24/7 on‑call rotation; lead post‑incident analysis, document findings, and implement remediation plans.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
• 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability, Dev Ops, or Systems Engineering roles in a SaaS or hybrid‑cloud environment.
• Strong experience with Windows Server, Ubuntu Linux, and VMware infrastructure.
• Hands‑on production experience with Kubernetes and Istio Service Mesh.
• Proficiency in querying SQL Server 2019/2022 environments.
• Understanding of SAML‑based authentication and identity federation tools such as Ping Federate.
• Strong scripting and automation skills (Power Shell, Bash, Python).
• Knowledge of network security, Checkpoint firewalls, and secure infrastructure principles.

• Experience in a regulated SaaS environment (SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR).
• Experience with AWS, Azure, and hybrid infrastructure.
• Familiarity with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK Stack).
• Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD).
