Role SummaryOur Media Platform Operations team is looking for a highly capable Senior Database Administrator who can operate effectively without day‑to‑day supervision. The role involves creating and implementing standardized database management procedures, overseeing installation, security, and upgrading of SAP HANA databases, and providing guidance on database structures and features to a global customer base. You will design, develop, and maintain database systems, troubleshoot complex issues, and develop disaster recovery procedures to ensure continuous availability.
AccountabilitiesOperations / Project Management
- Coordinate DBA activities with the infrastructure team to ensure database servers are built on time per customer requirements.
- Participate in new projects – defining strategy, architecture, standards, and procedures to uphold data integrity and security.
- Work effectively with a globally dispersed team.
- Deploy, upgrade, relocate, and decommission database servers on‑prem and in the cloud.
- Participate in an on‑call rotation to provide 24/7 customer support.
- Review existing database monitoring and backup strategy and devise a new strategy based on business requirements.
- Develop and maintain SAP HANA monitoring processes.
- Identify, propose, and implement new emerging technologies for ongoing projects and operations.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Design, implement, and test high availability and business continuity plans for Tier 1 applications.
- Create and maintain database and operational documentation for 24/7 operations team and junior DBAs.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Technology.
- Minimum 5+ years of hands‑on administration experience, especially setting up SAP HANA databases.
- Experience with DB2, MySQL, Postgre
SQL, and other relation databases. - Experience automating, scripting, and streamlining processes using Unix shell, Windows BAT, Python, or Power Shell.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as DBI and Data Dog.
- Some AWS experience (S3, EC2, IAM, security, Lambda, networking).
- Experience developing standard processes and procedures for database installation and configuration.
- Extensive experience with disaster recovery and high‑availability implementation.
- Ability to solve complex technical problems innovatively.
- Strong technical documentation and project‑planning skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and customer‑relationship skills.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills; able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Legal right to work in the United States.
- Availablity to provide 24/7 support.
- Experience with Oracle, Snowflake, Databricks, or additional databases.
- Experience hosting databases on‑prem, AWS, or Azure (PASS and SASS implementations).

CompensationPay Range: $95,690.00 – $ per year.
