Technical Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Payments Technical Consultant to play a pivotal role in bridging technology and business operations within the dynamic payments ecosystem.

This role focuses on delivering modernization projects, ensuring compliance, and implementing robust payment solutions across multiple payment rails and platforms.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in payment systems, industry standards, and emerging technologies.

• Define program vision, scope, operating model, and success metrics.
• Maintain multi-release roadmap and benefits case.
• Administer governance processes, ensure audit-ready documentation, and manage budgets.
• Lead change management across Technology, Operations, Treasury, Banking, Risk, Compliance, and Finance teams.

• Deliver capabilities across wires/SWIFT, ACH/SEPA, real-time rails (RTP/Fed Now), card networks, and cross-border payments.
• Orchestrate migration to ISO 20022 and manage scheme certifications and infrastructure testing.
• Implement and upgrade payment hubs, orchestration layers, and clearing adapters.
• Coordinate fraud, AML, sanctions screening, tokenization, and authorization routing.

• Ensure adherence to PCI DSS, AML/KYC, sanctions/OFAC, Reg E/PSD2-SCA, and data privacy standards.
• Drive resilience, observability, throughput/latency SLOs, and incident/problem management improvements.
• Lead RFI/RFP processes and contract negotiations for payment hubs, gateways, and fraud tools.
• Manage partners against milestones, SLAs, and acceptance criteria.

• Plan and sequence releases across multiple feature teams using Agile/SAFe and stage-gate controls.
• Align architecture on APIs/microservices, event-driven systems (MQ/Kafka), and real-time flows.
• Oversee cutover plans, certification, and hypercare support.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience delivering payments modernization projects.
• 3+ years of experience with payment rails (ACH, Wire, Card, RTP, Fed Now).
• 2+ years of experience with emerging payment technologies (Real-Time Payments, Mobile Wallets, ISO 20022, Open Banking).
• Technical background in payment systems, including card networks and payment processing technologies.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (PCI-DSS, EMV, ISO
  8583, ISO 20022).

• Consulting industry experience.
• Familiarity with fraud prevention, AML/KYC, and compliance frameworks.
