Associate Implementation Data Specialist
Location: Atlanta, GA
Salary: $85,000 – $95,000
Job OverviewThe role of Associate Consultant – Implementation Data Specialist is responsible for handling participant data received from a prior service provider for Non‑Qualified Deferred Compensation (NQDC) plans that are transitioning to our VPAS®BPA record‑keeping system. Working closely with the Implementation Specialist, you will review, evaluate and map participant data, build load files for participants and their elections, and partner throughout the file‑loading process for newly converted plans.
You’ll also participate in conversion calls with clients and plan sponsors to clarify plan provisions.
- Review and decipher prior service provider’s participant data for NQDC plans.
- Structure the data into categories based on Legal Plan Document (LPD) provisions, including current, grandfathered, and amended LPD provisions.
- Build data load files based on the VPAS®BPA load schemas.
- Account for all corresponding participant elections.
- Outline and document all missing participant elections with detail.
- Document all outlying data or participant elections that do not conform to LPD, amendments, etc.
- Load data files to the respective plan setup on VPAS®BPA.
- Resolve any data loading errors to ensure compliance with 409A.
- Perform quality checks and reconcile prior service provider’s data with the data loaded to VPAS®BPA.
- Read, comprehend, and extract retirement plan provisions from the plan’s Legal Plan Document.
- Partner with and attend weekly (or as scheduled) underwriting calls with the client to discuss plan provisions for potential new business.
- Participate in the collaborative plan handoff meeting and explain how the data was parsed and loaded.
- Identify opportunities to streamline existing processes.
- Provide consultative services/recommendations on best practices.
- Adhere to agreed‑upon timelines to meet deadlines, while being flexible to changes in project schedules.
- Demonstrate strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Adhere to Service Level Agreements as they pertain to underwriting, plan implementations, and plan conversions.
Basic:
- Bachelor’s Degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 6 years of experience related to the job description.
Preferred:
- 3–4 years of experience in implementation, underwriting, and data conversion for NQDC, 403(b), 457(f), and 457(b) plans.
- 2–3 years in a client‑facing role.
- 3 years of experience with plan processing and administration, preferably NQDC and/or defined contribution plans.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational and follow‑through skills.
- High level of sensitivity to service and quality.
- In‑depth understanding of NQDC plan processing and administration under 409A.
- Strong aptitude to learn the McCamish Systems VPAS®BPA record‑keeping system.
