Data Center Operations Technician – Atlanta, GA (Multiple Day & Night Shifts Available)
Join Highpoint Technology Group as a Data Center Operations Technician. In this role you will monitor all data‑center facilities services, ensure systems reliability, and provide hands‑on support for critical infrastructure.
CompensationBase pay range: $21.00/yr – $26.00/yr (actual pay based on experience and skills).
Key Responsibilities- Track and maintain all data‑center facilities equipment, including physical security, HVAC, electrical plants, and critical service delivery networks.
- Participate in network cable installations and removals, space planning, cabinet/equipment installation, rack and stack procedures, and smart‑hands hardware break/fix support.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues in a critical environment; analyze customer calls in a timely manner.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on data‑center equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues affecting operations using diagnostic tools.
- Hardware Installation: Assist with rack mounting, cabling, and installation of servers, storage, and networking equipment.
- Cabling & Connectivity: Organize cabling infrastructure for optimal airflow and connectivity.
- Inventory Management: Keep accurate records of equipment and spare parts.
- Monitoring & Alert Response: Monitor infrastructure alerts and respond promptly to minimize downtime.
- Documentation: Document all maintenance activities, configurations, and repairs.
- Project Assistance: Support data‑center projects (upgrades, migrations, installations) as directed.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Minimum of two years working in a Network Operations Center (NOC) with complex data‑center facilities (Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC).
- Prior military experience preferred but not required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service while working with senior company leaders.
- Proficiency in maintaining Service Level Agreements (SLAs) through proactive detection and reporting tools.
- Capacity to follow accurate support procedures, system documentation, and issue tracking.
- Proficient knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office.
- Good judgment and decision‑making instincts.
- Strong prioritization skills in a fast‑paced environment.
- Availability to work a 24 x 7 x 365 schedule; 12‑hour rotating shifts, weekends, and after‑hours as required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in elevated or tight locations.
- Certification or formal training in data‑center operations required.
