• Design, implement, and maintain the underlying infrastructure and network for Geotab’s big data environment on GCP.
• Integrate best practices, security standards, and cloud architecture with internal development teams.
• Develop logging, monitoring, and alerting services to ensure the health of the data platform.
• Perform peer code reviews, QA analysis, and performance improvements or bug fixes.
• Analyze call stacks, trace files, and performance data to troubleshoot root causes.
• Contribute to data engineering guidelines, policies, and processes.
• Mentor team members and support a 24x7 on‑call rotating schedule as required.

Build scalable data pipelines that enable data science teams to analyze billions of data points daily, improving fleet safety, fuel efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

• Post‑secondary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5‑8 years of software or data engineering experience.
• 5+ years developing production‑level systems in Java and Spring frameworks.
• 3+ years containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, or Open Shift).
• Proficiency in Python or Bash scripting.
• Experience with Golang, Terraform, or Argo is a plus.
• Strong understanding of cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure) and data management fundamentals.
• Team player with entrepreneurial mindset and problem‑solving skills.
