Job Overview
Join the BDO Alliance Azure Data Engineer role at BDO USA. This position supports the Alliance Team and over 400 Alliance Firms with modern Azure infrastructure and data solutions.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and implement the Alliance Data Lake, supporting over 25,000 users.
- Collaborate with the Alliance team and stakeholders to deliver value‑added digital solutions.
- Implement best‑in‑class data ingestion, warehousing, semantic modeling, visualizations, streaming, API integrations, and automation (RPA) on Azure and AWS.
- Listen to client needs and align solutions with business requirements and delivery schedules.
- Write functional and technical designs and code in multiple languages, applying architectural patterns and software development principles.
- Participate in project status meetings, provide aggregated status for program and project managers, and assist leadership with project planning and management as needed.
- Assist with SLA compliance, performance tuning, and optimization of end‑to‑end solutions.
- Implement and support data governance programs and best practices.
- Produce clear, frequent, and transparent reporting to management.
- Support special projects to enhance the overall value of the Alliance Program and attend Alliance team meetings and conference.
- High School Diploma or GED, required.
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Information Systems, Data Science or Computer Science, preferred.
- Prior experience working on Azure infrastructure, required.
- Five (5) or more years of experience with Data Infrastructure and Application, required.
- Experience with Data Warehousing, Data Modeling, Semantic Model Definition or Star Schema construction, required.
- Hands‑on delivery experience of end‑to‑end cloud data analytics solutions within Azure, required.
- Experience with Synapse and Serverless Views, preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, required.
- Experience with Python, required.
- Experience with C#, preferred.
- Experience with GIT or Dev Ops deployment technologies, preferred.
- Experience with Linux, preferred.
- Experience with Power BI or other Data Modeling tools, preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid judgment and reasoning skills with an analytical mindset and a passion for problem‑solving.
- Good customer service skills, a result‑orientated mindset, and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a deadline‑driven environment and handle multiple projects/tasks.
- Strong collaboration skills and team spirit with a team‑first attitude.
- Minimal travel required.
National Range: $150,000 - $175,000. Maryland Range: $150,000 - $175,000. NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $150,000 - $175,000.
