Job Description

Location: Onsite in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin – relocation required.

Levels:

  • Lead Technician – 5+ years of Lead or Management experience
  • L4 Technician – 5+ years of dedicated DC Experience
  • L3 Technician – 3+ years of DC experience

Shifts:

  • A side Days:
    Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, & every other Wednesday 6a – 6p
  • A side Nights:
    Same days as above except 6p – 6a
  • B side Days:
    Thursday, Friday, Saturday, & every other Wednesday 6a – 6p
  • B side Nights:
    Same as above except 6p – 6a

Job Brief: We are seeking highly skilled Data Center Technicians to join our IT team. Responsibilities include break‑fix of GPUs, servers, network, and cabling, as well as ticket management (ITSM). Candidates must have extensive experience landing GPU or network racks in a data center environment and strong knowledge of Ethernet cabling technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Move servers and switches to required destinations for installation.
  • Inspect servers and switches to ensure they are not damaged.
  • Install servers and switches and cable them according to provided wire maps.
  • Bundle cables neatly and in accordance with standards.
  • Verify cable connectivity with network admins.
  • Install additional components (NIC, drive, memory).
  • Assist in unboxing and preparing servers.
  • Audit servers and consumables.
  • Troubleshoot servers and isolate problems.
  • Order and install replacement parts; ship defective parts to vendors.
  • Update firmware on servers.
  • Configure IP addresses and default login credentials.
  • Assist network admins with cabling issues, optics replacement, and part upgrades.
  • Temporarily rack and stack servers or switches for remote configuration.
  • Deploy and configure GPUs in servers, ensuring proper installation and functionality.
  • Perform break‑fix tasks for GPUs, servers, network, and cabling.
  • Manage tickets using ITSM tools.
  • Lead and manage teams effectively.
  • Travel as required.
  • Provide daily communication and document progress.
  • Work in a Microsoft data center environment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety measures and data center standards.
Requirements
  • 3‑10+ years of deployment and/or break‑fix experience in a data center.
  • Extensive experience landing fully populated GPU or network racks.
  • Strong knowledge of Ethernet cabling technologies (copper, fiber SM, MM, MPO, routing, dressing, connectors).
  • Experience handling and installing optical modules (SFP, QSFP).
  • Experience scoping and cleaning fibers (SC, LC, MPO).
  • Experience racking and stacking equipment.
  • Experience patching fiber and copper cables.
  • Proven experience leading teams.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Experience with DC power and DC‑powered equipment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to document progress using tracking mechanisms, MS Office, and digital photos.
  • Experience working in a Microsoft data center environment.
  • Familiarity with telecom engineering designs specific to enterprise‑level data centers.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Preferred certifications:
    CompTIA A+, Server+, CCENT, Windows OS, CCNA, MCP/MSCE.
  • Scripting experience preferred – Power Shell, Python, Bash.
  • Onsite in Mt. Pleasant, WI – team based out of the South Eastern Wisconsin area focusing on GPU cluster deployments.
  • Multiple resources across all 4 core MSFT shifts on a 3x4x12 schedule.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 – $49.50/hr benefits are subject to change and may be contingent on classification and length of employment.
