As an Associate Investigator with the Investigations Solutions team, you leverage your experience to proactively conduct research, analyze data, write reports, and present your investigative findings to both team members and customers. You are confident in advocating for the Chainalysis mission of bringing trust to blockchains and are proficient in leveraging our tools and data to develop insights into illicit activity trends in cryptocurrency and their impact on our customers.
By collaborating with team members across Chainalysis, you will help support the most intricate financial crime investigations to meet and exceed customer expectations.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with team members and across Chainalysis to support complex cryptocurrency investigations
- Provide investigative and analytic support for technical and highly sensitive investigations and initiatives pertaining to blockchain technologies and cryptocurrency-based crime
- Conduct research and data analysis, author investigative reports, and present those findings to team members and customers
- Review the adequacy and completeness of investigations and the data collection methods to determine the authenticity, accuracy, and relevance of that data—resulting in more thorough investigations and analytic assessments
- Evangelize the Chainalysis mission of bringing trust to blockchains, becoming an expert in using our tools and data to generate insights on illicit activity trends in crypto and their impact on our customers
We're looking for candidates who have:
- A degree in cybersecurity, cybercrime, intelligence, criminal justice, forensic accounting, data analytics, or similar
- Previous work experience conducting complex financial crime investigations for federal government, intelligence analysis or law enforcement investigations, financial services or cryptocurrency companies, or equivalent forensic experience related to darkweb, counter terrorism, or technical analysis is highly desired
- Experience conducting open-source research utilizing public and private databases highly desired
- Interest in and/or passion for blockchain/cryptocurrency technology
Nice-to-have qualities and skills:
- Previous professional or personal experience in the DeFi space
- Working knowledge of (or proficiency in) SQL and Python
- Certification in Chainalysis Reactor (CRC and CEIC)
This position is ineligible for visa sponsorship. The Investigator filling this role must be available to be present at a customer site up to five days per week in Atlanta, Georgia.
Due to the nature of the work performed, U.S. Citizenship is required.
