Typical Day in the Role

• Purpose of the Team:
  The purpose of this team is supporting SAP capabilities within corporate accounting. The team’s main focus is managing the master data, security roles and internal controls for the financial processes in SAP.
• Key projects:
  This role will contribute to leading up SAP security design for SAP S/4 project as finance teams across the organization are implementing SAP S/4.
• Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm:
  The role will consist of collaborating cross‑functionally in a multi‑team project development setting to define security roles for the new SAP S/4
  
  HANA solution.

  3 overall years of experience in the field.
• Degrees or certifications required:
  No degree is required to be eligible for this role.
• Best vs. Average:
  The ideal resume would contain significant finance background on top of the SAP S/4 requirement, and the ideal candidate can hit the ground running technically and functionally.

Top 3 Hard Skills Required

• Minimum 2‑3 years experience with advanced understanding of SAP S/4 finance Fiori app’s and SAP GUI transactions – and – how each are enabled by security roles.
• Minimum 2‑3 years experience with in-depth knowledge of SAP S/4 best practice and ‘real world’ security role design alternatives for finance.
• Minimum 8 years experience with a thorough understanding of finance end‑to‑end business processes (including Record‑to‑Report, General Ledger Accounting, Allocations, Period Close, Consolidated Reporting, and Statutory Reporting with the ability to credibly engage with Finance business stakeholders to align security and role design decisions with real operational process flows.)

SAP S/4 Finance Security Design and Delivery

Engagement Objectives:

Define, design, and deploy new security roles and controls that enable and regulate the execution of financial activities on the new SAP S/4 platform:

• Collaborate with engineering (IT), finance, and internal financial controls teams to define, design, test, and deploy new finance SAP S/4 security roles.
• Collaborate with SAP S/4 Program Management (PMO) team to plan and coordinate work activities with all SAP S/4 workstream teams.
• Ensure segregation‑of‑duty controls related to SAP S/4 Fiori app’s, SAP GUI transactions, etc., are identified, defined, and activated within SAP GRC.
• Ensure SAP S/4 critical action business processes, Fiori app’s, SAP GUI transactions, etc., are identified - and - that corresponding controls are activated within SAP GRC.
• Consult finance teams to identify end‑user assignments for each new SAP S/4 security role.
