We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator II to join our IT Infrastructure team. This senior-level role is responsible for the administration, optimization, security, and availability of enterprise database environments. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience managing large-scale Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases while providing strategic guidance for database architecture, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and data security initiatives. The Database Administrator III will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure database systems support business objectives, maintain optimal performance, and adhere to organizational security and compliance requirements.
This position also serves as a technical leader and mentor for database-related projects and initiatives.
- Manage and maintain enterprise Oracle and SQL Server database environments.
- Monitor database performance and proactively identify opportunities for optimization.
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and uptime of critical database systems.
- Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks, system issues, and database failures.
- Design, implement, and maintain database architectures that support business and operational requirements.
- Evaluate and recommend database technologies and solutions that improve scalability and efficiency.
- Support application development teams in database design, optimization, and implementation.
- Implement and maintain database security standards, policies, and best practices.
- Manage user access controls, permissions, encryption, and auditing mechanisms.
- Ensure compliance with organizational, regulatory, and industry data protection standards.
- Develop, maintain, and test backup and disaster recovery strategies.
- Ensure database recovery objectives meet business continuity requirements.
- Perform regular recovery validation exercises and disaster recovery testing.
- Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, patching, and maintenance activities.
- Evaluate and apply security updates and performance enhancements.
- Minimize business disruption during system maintenance and upgrade activities.
- Monitor database growth and resource utilization trends.
- Develop long-term capacity planning strategies to ensure scalability.
