Senior AOSP Security EngineerAtlanta, GA, US Hybrid Full-time $130,000 – $190,000
About WinixxWinixx Inc. is a New York-based technology holding company operating a portfolio of over 35 SaaS platforms across freight, fleet management, financial infrastructure, and market intelligence. We are now building WinixxOS — a distinctive, AOSP-based operating system powering a full lineup of consumer hardware including phones, tablets, smartwatches, POS devices, and gaming consoles. Founded with a mission to modernize fragmented and underserved industries, Winixx builds technology that removes inefficiencies, creates transparency, and puts more value in the hands of the people doing the actual work.
This is early-stage, high-ownership platform engineering — you would be shaping foundational decisions for a new OS, not implementing someone else's spec.
As a Senior AOSP Security Engineer at Winixx, you will harden WinixxOS at the system level — across every device class in our hardware lineup. You will own security architecture decisions for a platform built from the ground up, with particular emphasis on payment-grade security for our POS devices and sandboxing across phones, tablets, and wearables.
What You'll Do- Design and implement platform-level security architecture across the AOSP fork powering WinixxOS
- Harden app sandboxing, permissions architecture, and inter-process communication boundaries
- Own secure boot, verified boot chain, and trusted execution environment integration
- Lead payment-grade security hardening for the POS device class, including PCI-relevant controls
- Conduct security reviews of new system services, HAL implementations, and kernel modifications
- Develop and enforce SELinux policy across the platform
- Collaborate with the API & Integration team to ensure security is enforced consistently across SDK surfaces
- Respond to and lead remediation of security vulnerabilities discovered pre- and post-launch
- 5+ years of experience in platform or mobile security engineering, with direct AOSP experience
- Deep knowledge of SELinux policy, Android permissions architecture, and sandboxing models
- Experience with secure boot, verified boot, and trusted execution environments (TEE/Trust Zone)
- Familiarity with payment security standards (PCI-DSS) is a strong advantage given our POS device class
- Experience conducting security audits of AOSP forks or custom Android-based platforms
- Strong understanding of kernel-level and HAL security boundaries
- Comfortable working in an early-stage environment defining security architecture from scratch
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Security, or equivalent experience
- Competitive base salary commensurate with experience
- Performance bonus program tied to individual and company milestones
- Visa sponsorship available for the right talent
- Full-time role with a minimum one-year commitment
- Front-row seat at a company building a new OS and hardware ecosystem from the ground up
- Collaborative, mission-driven team environment
- Paid time off and company holidays
- Professional development and continuing education support
