Zurich Insurance is looking for an experienced Underwriter or Underwriting Specialist for our E&S team in Atlanta, GA. This hybrid role will involve working with agents, brokers, and national wholesalers to drive growth and profitability while maintaining a strong market presence.

• Proactively seek new account opportunities and manage existing renewal accounts.
• Demonstrate specialized knowledge and expertise in underwriting excess casualty lines of business.
• Complete detailed opportunity assessments with key distributors to identify growth opportunities.
• Contribute to the development and completion of proposals.
• Qualify accounts that meet the organization’s appetite while balancing sound business opportunity.
• Make agent/broker/customer and on‑site calls with a planned and well‑prepared purpose.
• Negotiate terms and conditions and close deals.
• Cross‑sell other lines of business to increase product density with the account.
• Participate in Sales Team meetings related to assigned brokers and/or territory.
• Engage in the target account process, managing a qualified list of opportunities 90 to 120 days prior to effective date.
• Develop strong broker and client networks within industries underwritten by the Business Unit.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 1 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience working under time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
• Experience working in a team environment.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 1 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 4 or more years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support.
• Knowledge of lines of business and the legal and regulatory guidelines.
• Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Microsoft Office experience.

The combined salary range for this position is $60,000.00 - $. The proposed salary for the Underwriter is $60,000.00 - $95,000.00 with a short‑term incentive bonus eligibility of 10%. For the Underwriting Specialist it is $75,000.00 - $ with a short‑term incentive bonus eligibility of 15%. We offer competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, bonuses, and merit increases.
