The Hiscox Underwriting Center (HUC) is the largest underwriting team in the company, responsible for 25% of all U.S. business, and is dedicated to outstanding customer service with fast responses and definitive answers.

As an Underwriter Associate in the HUC, you will analyze, price, quote, and negotiate Professional Liability, Technology E&O, and Cyber/Privacy insurance to meet agreed service standards and key performance objectives. The volume of business is rising rapidly, and career opportunities are growing.

• Underwrite, analyze, price, and negotiate renewal accounts consistent with risk quality and company strategy and guidelines.
• Develop and maintain relationships with regional brokers and other Hiscox Underwriters across U.S. offices.
• Achieve production targets and underwrite business profitably in a high‑volume environment.
• Respond to broker inquiries promptly.

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Ability to interact effectively with all levels of internal and external personnel, including colleagues in other Hiscox offices, brokers, and customers.
• Desire to learn and increase product knowledge and underwriting skill.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• No college degree required.

• Experience underwriting small‑business (commercial insurance) accounts in a volume environment.
• Experience handling complex customer transactions in a "call‑center" operation.

Salary range: $55‑$72k
