Billing Specialist

Compensation: $70,000-$80,000/year

Location: Remote (Must be able to work EST/CST business hours)

Vaco is partnering with a national law firm to hire a skilled Billing Specialist. This role supports the firm's billing operations, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing while maintaining exceptional client service.

• Prepare and distribute prebills for assigned attorneys; ensure all unbilled time is captured.
• Edit prebills using Aderant software, ensuring compliance with client guidelines and attorney preferences.
• Finalize invoices for attorney approval and coordinate with finance for posting and delivery.
• Monitor unapplied credits and trust balances; apply or refund as appropriate.
• Maintain and update eBilling vendor sites.
• Provide billing support across offices and assist both billing and accounting departments.

• 5+ years of billing experience at a law firm (large/national firm preferred)
• Strong problem‑solving skills and understanding of legal business operations.
• Proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, V‑Lookups, formulas, etc.)
• Aderant billing software (highly preferred)
• Must be able to work EST/CST standard business hours
