We are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our Atlanta office and provide support to our Construction Team attorneys. This role involves managing complex documentation and assisting with litigation and arbitration. The ideal candidate will be proactive, have strong attention to detail and organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Document Preparation: Prepare pleadings, discovery responses, subpoenas, and other legal documents under attorney supervision.
- Case Management: Organize and maintain case files, track deadlines, and ensure compliance with all applicable court and arbitration rules and procedures.
- Litigation Support: Assist with hearing, deposition, motion, and trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, scheduling depositions, managing courtroom logistics, and all other aspects of litigation or arbitration.
- Document Management: Process large volumes of documents, including organizing, indexing, and analyzing production.
- Client Communication: Serve as a liaison between attorneys and clients, providing updates and responding to inquiries.
- Billing: Maintain billing records and ensure timely and accurate time entry.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a paralegal in a litigation practice.
- Strong understanding of federal court rules, including service of process, filing procedures, and deadlines; experience with arbitration is a plus.
- Familiar with discovery processes and managing document reviews and productions.
- Experience with trial preparation, including preparing trial binders, exhibit lists, and witness files and coordinating courtroom or arbitration logistics.
- Proficient in CM/ECF, PACER, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) applications, and litigation support software (e.g., Relativity).
- Willingness and ability to embrace new technology and platforms and the ability to learn new programs and processes quickly.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling a high volume of tasks with precision.
- Ability to work independently, manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Paralegal certificate preferred, Bachelor's degree a plus.
- Experience with construction arbitration or litigation helpful but not mandatory.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Problem‑solving mindset with critical thinking skills.
- Self‑starter with strong initiative and ability to manage tasks without constant supervision.
The Human Resources department will conduct interviews of qualified individuals prior to requesting a criminal background check, and no job application submitted prior to such interview shall inquire into an applicant's criminal history. If this position is subject to a background check for any convictions related to its responsibilities and requirements, employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation including criminal history.
