Provide strategic legal counsel on franchising and related commercial matters, driving business growth while maintaining regulatory compliance.

• Deliver clear, practical legal advice on franchise laws, regulatory matters, and franchisor operations
• Draft, review, negotiate, and/or file franchise agreements and franchise disclosure documents
• Drive accountability and compliance with contractual obligations and franchisor policies and procedures
• Support the development and implementation of franchising policy and guidelines and business governance processes
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of non-technology-focused commercial agreements
• Serve as business and legal partner to and collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., development, franchise operations, commercial, communications) to align legal support with business objectives
• Develop and continually improve templates, processes, and procedures to support growth
• Lead a team of legal professionals providing responsive support to franchisees and internal stakeholders

• B.A. degree
• J.D. from accredited U.S. law school; active bar membership in good standing
• Minimum 5 years of legal experience, including at least 2-3 years in franchise law
• Experience in both a law firm and in‑house environment preferred
• People‑management experience (including remote teams) preferred

• Significant understanding of franchise law and the franchise business model
• Working knowledge of commercial contracting principles
• Strong business acumen and sound legal judgment
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
• Proficiency in legal and business technologies (e.g., CLM systems, CRM platforms, O365, AI tools)
• Comfortable multi‑tasking in a fast‑paced, matrixed and evolving business environment
• Strong relationship‑building skills
• Willingness to travel (i.e., 5‑10%) as needed to support the business and/or professional development
