Construction Litigation Associate
Nelson Mullins is looking to add an experienced Construction Associate to its Construction Law & Litigation group. Ideally located in the Atlanta office, but also open to Greenville, SC, and Charlotte, NC office locations. As an AmLaw 100 firm, this offers a unique opportunity to a lateral associate who wants to be part of a dynamic team and a growing office.
All candidates are asked to submit a cover letter, resume, and a copy of their law school transcript.
Responsibilities- Take complex construction cases from start to finish through all forms of dispute resolution.
- Analyze complex fact patterns to applicable case and statutory law to develop a case for litigation and trial.
- Conduct depositions, including taking and defending key fact witnesses and expert witnesses.
- Engage in mediation, arbitration, and other non‑court dispute resolution methods.
- Prepare legal pleadings, motions, and other court documents, with a focus on dispositive motion practice.
- Draft and review construction industry standard forms, such as AIA contracts.
- 3 to 5 years of meaningful construction law experience.
- Demonstrated experience in depositions, mediation, and arbitration.
- Experience with court hearings, preferably dispositive motion practice.
- Basic knowledge of standard construction industry forms, such as AIA; contract drafting experience is a plus.
- Respectable academic credentials.
- Admitted to, or willing to be admitted to, and in good standing with the Georgia and/or North Carolina Bar.
