Job Overview

Truist Audit Manager is responsible for leading high‑risk, complex, and value‑added independent risk‑based internal audit assurance and advisory services. The role includes coaching junior team members, providing candid and constructive feedback, and ensuring high‑quality deliverables.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Serve as Engagement Manager for high‑risk and complex audit engagements by planning, scoping, and developing test plans, including the use of data analytics.
  • Allocate resources and individuals effectively to complete assignments within budget.
  • Set clear quality expectations based on Truist Audit Services standards and review process documentation to evaluate effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Develop meaningful, well‑supported audit reports aligned with Truist’s risk appetite framework, and present them to key stakeholders.
  • Identify substantive and material issues that go beyond paperwork shortcomings, finding solutions rather than just problems.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to junior team members through active training and mentoring.
  • Demonstrate effective challenge by providing deep subject‑matter knowledge and industry insight to support business partnership efforts.
  • Manage timely and quality delivery of multiple tasks, including audits, projects, and special assignments; provide advisory services for new or updated systems and processes.
  • Work independently while exercising judgment in risk‑based assessments of complex nature.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Six to eight years of banking, auditing, or related experience.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in audit and banking financial services.
  • Strong understanding of risk management and process concepts.
  • Strong analytical, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to grasp and communicate underlying concepts in complex information.
  • Ability to identify and communicate root causes of problems.
  • Ability to formulate and communicate solutions based on synthesis of information.
  • Strong written, verbal, and negotiating skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong project management and advisory skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree.
  • Professional certification.
  • Knowledge of Truist Audit Services audit software and business‑specific software.
