Opportunity to work with a company that has seen excellent growth and is established in the Atlanta market. Large Site and Utility work focused on supporting top technology companies. We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager / Director of Operations with a strong background in underground utilities and earthworks. This leadership role is responsible for managing all aspects of project execution and field operations across multiple job sites.
The ideal candidate will possess both strategic and hands-on capabilities in planning, execution, personnel management, and client relations within the civil construction industry.
Key Responsibilities Project Oversight
- Lead and manage multiple concurrent site development projects with a focus on utilities (water, sewer, storm) and earthmoving operations.
- Oversee all phases of project lifecycle including estimating support, preconstruction, scheduling, resource allocation, and project closeout.
- Monitor project performance to ensure compliance with design specifications, schedule milestones, and budgetary goals.
- Direct field staff, subcontractors, and equipment utilization to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality performance.
- Conduct regular job site visits to assess progress, resolve issues, and maintain production targets.
- Collaborate with superintendents and foremen to ensure work meets quality and safety standards.
- Develop and refine operational strategies and workflows for improved productivity and profitability.
- Implement standardized reporting, cost tracking, and process controls across all jobs.
- Work with accounting and estimating teams to ensure financial integrity and forecasting accuracy.
- Recruit, train, and lead project managers, engineers, and field supervisors.
- Foster a culture of accountability, professional development, and safety.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide mentorship for growth.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, engineers, utility providers, and regulatory agencies.
- Maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication, progress reporting, and proactive problem-solving.
- Participate in project planning meetings and manage client expectations throughout the construction process.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification.
- Experience working with municipalities, DOT, and private developers.
- Knowledge of GPS machine control systems and construction-grade survey practices.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
