Event Manager
Location:
Atlanta, GA
Salary: $65,000 - $70,000 per year with bonus incentive potential.
Employment type:
Full‑time. Seniority level:
Mid‑Senior Level.
The Event Manager will lead event operations, ensuring operational and financial success, client satisfaction, and profitability across the Sports & Entertainment vertical.
Responsibilities- Work events and post events as needed, including weekends and holidays.
- Lead a diverse team and engage in regular client interaction.
- Ensure quality services are provided at the site in alignment with contractual agreements and budgetary requirements.
- Achieve operational and financial goals, plan and direct activities to promote project profitability.
- Control expenses, retain current customers, and expand billable services.
- Assess contract requirements and develop work plans, harnessing labor agreements.
- Maintain close relationships with customers; conduct inspections, discuss service changes and future needs.
- Provide information about additional ABM services and respond to customer inquiries.
- Resolve complaints and maintain service contract compliance.
- Inform leadership on project status, identify potential issues, and recommend actions.
- Participate in management meetings to review project issues and develop recommendations.
- Operate autonomously—plan activities and keep management informed of business issues.
- Deliver excellent customer service, enhance service delivery, and promote unbilled service opportunities.
- Work with frontline personnel to meet customer requirements, determine training needs, and evaluate staff performance.
- Recommend staffing levels, collaborate with HR to hire, train, and evaluate staff.
- Understand union contracts and build relationships with local labor unions.
- Support sales and marketing efforts by building customer relationships and increasing billable services.
- Control inventory to ensure labor and supplies remain within budget and report accidents/property damage timely.
- Passion for serving others and helping others succeed.
- Excellent personal organization skills and strong attention to detail.
- Proactive problem anticipator with preventative action plans.
- Flexibility to respond to urgent client requests on evenings and weekends.
- Technical savviness with MS Office, smartphones, internet, and related applications.
- Excellent written and verbal business communication skills.
- Understanding of the service industry practices, processes, and trends.
- Prior management or supervisory experience in sports and/or entertainment fields.
- Solid accounting and business acumen.
- Inventory control to ensure labor and supplies are within budget.
- Accurate reporting of accidents and property damage in a timely manner.
