Training & Development Director

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our award‑winning Training team as the Director of Training. This key leadership role is responsible for leading the development and implementation of engaging training programs that enhance associate skills, expand knowledge, and drive performance. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting a dynamic decentralized culture and ensuring our associates at all levels have the tools and knowledge necessary to excel.

Team

& Training Program Management
  • Lead and mentor a team of training professionals in the development and delivery of high‑quality training initiatives.
  • Design, implement, and oversee a range of training programs, including onboarding, technical/soft skills, compliance training, technology, leadership development, and more, catering to various associate levels and job roles.
  • Facilitate the implementation of new processes, technologies, or changes within the organization through comprehensive training initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Leverage (and keep current) our extensive library of multimedia content using our integrated LMS to power learning plans.
  • Create and maintain training calendars to ensure all associates receive appropriate training on an annual basis.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to create engaging and impactful training materials, utilizing a mix of multimedia resources, e‑learning platforms, workshops, seminars, and virtual learning environments.
  • Conduct regular assessments (formal and informal) to identify skill gaps and training needs in the organization.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPI’s) to measure the ROI related to capital investments in training programs.
  • Work with Operations leadership to develop training programs that address specific challenges related to sales, service, technology, and performance management.
  • Analyze outcomes and make data‑driven recommendations to improve and develop training at Gables Residential continually.
  • Review associate experience feedback to evaluate and recommend associate development or training interventions as needed.
  • Continually review and evaluate training plans, materials, and resources to ensure relevance and alignment with company objectives.
  • Oversee the delivery of training programs through various modalities, including instructor‑led, e‑learning, external presenters, and virtual instructor‑led classes.
  • Ensure team member compliance on all required coursework throughout the year.
Education & Professional Experience
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and e‑learning technologies.
  • 5+ years experience designing and implementing learning and development programs.
  • 3+ years in a leadership role supervising a learning team.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable improvements.
  • Strong project management skills, including prioritizing and managing multiple initiatives.
  • Multi‑family real estate experience is preferred.
  • Workday experience strongly preferred.
  • The ability to speak and write English. The ability to speak and write Spanish is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CPLP, CPTD) are a plus.
Attendance/Travel Requirements
  • The position requires the ability to work five days a week, usually 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., but flexible if overtime is required.
  • Ability to travel within the United States. Travel time averages 30% but may increase or decrease based on needs.
  • Ability to pay all travel expenses up front, to be reimbursed by the company after approval.
Licenses/Equipment

A valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance is required. The position requires individuals to furnish their own vehicle to fulfill all job functions. The position requires the ability to use general office equipment, including computers, printers, copy machines, fax machines, postage machines, binding machines, etc.
