Position: COURT PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR

* unclassified position within juvenile court
* experience and training

completion of course work equivalent to the academic requirements of a bachelor's degree in business or public administration, criminal justice, sociology, psychology, human relations or a related field (masters' degree in the above preferred); and five (5) years experience managing a court program, or providing management in a court system or legal field, including three (3) years supervisory experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

the examination will consist of an evaluation of education and experience accomplished by analysis of the application. Application must document that the applicant possesses the minimum knowledge, skills, education and experience as listed to be qualified. job summary

incumbent in this class performs interpretive duties related to the administration of a court program and management team within juvenile count administration. Responsibilities include investigating and resolving questions, issues, and technical problems related to the assigned court program.

essential duties
  • oversees the daily operations of an assigned court program.
  • manages assigned divisional staff, including establishing workloads, evaluating employee performance, resolving staff conflicts, and administering disciplinary action as required.
  • reports directly to the chief administrative officer and receives administrative directives.
  • evaluates, recommends, and implements policies and procedures for assigned court program.
  • investigates and resolves questions, issues, and technical problems related to the assigned court program.
  • provides directives and recommendations on case flow.
  • prepares technical and analytical reports and administrative correspondence.
  • develops performance measurements for assigned staff.
  • ensures compliance with county codes and all applicable federal, state, and local laws governing assigned program.
  • establishes and maintains quality control procedures for assigned court program.
distinguishing characteristics

this is a stand-alone classification which does not fit within a classification series. Incumbent oversees an assigned court program and receives general direction from juvenile court's chief administrative officer.

physical requirements

sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
