Atlanta, GA | Onsite | Full-Time | Direct Hire

We are seeking an experienced Air Import Operations Manager to lead and oversee an established air import operation in Atlanta. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who enjoys developing people, driving accountability, and running a high‑performing operation while maintaining strong service and compliance standards.

This position is ideal for a proven freight forwarding leader who wants ownership, impact, and the opportunity to mentor a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the air import operation from order through final delivery
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the air import operations team
  • Identify growth areas for team members and support their professional development
  • Improve workflows and operational processes to increase efficiency and service quality
  • Negotiate rates with overseas partners, airlines, and local vendors
  • Support key accounts, RFQs, and internal sales initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and internal quality standards
  • Oversee pricing, rating, invoicing, and operational reporting
  • Maintain clear, timely communication with customers and internal stakeholders
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in freight forwarding with a strong focus on air imports
  • Prior leadership or management experience
  • Strong knowledge of Incoterms and U.S. Customs regulations
  • Ability to lead teams, enforce accountability, and mentor staff

    Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook
