R+L Carriers has an immediate opening for a Safety Hazmat Technician in our Atlanta, GA service center office. Reporting to the Director of Safety, the Hazmat Technician is responsible for the performance of tasks associated with emergency response, hazardous and non-hazardous materials clean‑up, site remediation, equipment decontamination, handling of hazardous materials, and other duties as required.

• 2nd Shift, Full‑time, Monday‑Friday 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM
• 3rd Shift, Full‑time, Monday‑Friday 1:00 AM to 11:00 AM

• Salaried: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00
• Paid Sick Leave available after first 30 calendar days of employment.
• PTO available after first 90 calendar days of employment and an excellent benefits package that includes employee resorts.

As a Hazmat Technician, you will:

• Perform emergency response operations.
• Carry out hazardous and non-hazardous materials clean‑up.
• Conduct site remediation and equipment decontamination.
• Handle hazardous materials per company and OSHA standards.
• Maintain detailed daily job notes.
• Report issues to management promptly.
• Work effectively within a high‑pressure, fast‑paced team.

• 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification required.
• Wear proper personal protective equipment when required.
• Physically fit; able to lift 75 lbs.
• Lead safety in all aspects of emergency response.
• Experience operating tools applicable to emergency response activities.
• Set up and participate in live training events.
• Audit incoming/outgoing hazardous materials shipments for compliance.
• Coaching co‑workers on unsafe behaviors observed.
• Willingness to participate in specialized scheduled projects.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Exceptional interpersonal, customer service, and problem‑solving skills.
• Proven ability to work in a confidential capacity.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks while being detail oriented.
