General PurposeThe manufacturing associate assembles products and/or related parts in a manufacturing setting at a standard rate of work based on customer demand and lean manufacturing principles. The position problem‑solves with assistance from team members and seeks continuous improvement activities. Work follows standard methods, safe practices, and a focus on efficiency and safety. Cross‑training to learn additional functions in other departments is required.
EssentialFunctions
- Attaches appropriate labels and tags to product and packages.
- Reads, understands, communicates, and interprets written and verbal instructions, work documentation, policies, and practices, all in English.
- Works overtime as needed.
- Completes required paperwork correctly to ensure record accuracy.
- Maintains a clean, safe working environment according to 5S and department safety guidelines.
- Participates in HMPS improvement activities within the current department or other departments as appropriate.
- Performs a minimum of 75% of the jobs in the department at the required rate (cycle time).
- Rotates through the department workstations based on business need.
- Checks equipment and product as needed, reporting safety or quality issues to the department supervisor.
- Shows regular and predictable attendance based on scheduled hours.
- Must be able to perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education / Experience- High school diploma or its equivalent (e.g., GED) OR work experience demonstrating performance competency.
- Competent in basic math skills such as counting, adding, and subtracting.
- Ability to work cooperatively within the team and with other teams to meet goals.
- Demonstrated willingness to adapt to a continually changing environment.
- Required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to regularly lift and move up to 10 lbs, frequently lift and move up to 25 lbs, and occasionally lift and move up to 40 lbs.
- Required to communicate and to see with or without correction.
Requires the physical ability to perform the described tasks, including lifting, standing, walking, and repetitive tasks during a shift.
