Pallet Builder

Overview

This position is responsible for cutting boards and building pallets to varying specifications in a fast-paced, highly physical, hot and demanding production environment where the employee is required to meet and exceed production quotas on a daily basis.

$15/hr to start. $26-$28/hr after training.

• Read and understand custom specifications for each build project
• Build pallets using a variety of shop tools
• Operate all pallet facility tools and equipment in a safe manner
• Wear all personal protective safety gear required
• Sort and stack boards or pallets according to criteria
• Keep daily log of work done to turn into shift supervisor at end of each shift
• Cleanup work area during and at end of each shift

• Experience in wood fabrication and carpentry preferred
• Knowledge of shop tools and equipment such as Sawzall, Pneumatic Nail Gun, Hand tools such as hammers, wrenches, screw drivers, crowbars, saws, etc. and two-way radios
• Basic reading, writing and mathematical skills
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Strong work ethic and exceptional attendance
• Flexible to work overtime, weekends and holidays, as needed
• Interact courteously and tactfully with site managers, supervisors, co-workers, customers and/or vendors so that productivity and morale are positively affected
• Constantly remain organized, focused and makes good use of time
• Function and operate comfortably in a very active fast-paced environment
• Stand, bend, stoop, squat, reach, twist, and push/pull continuously during the workday
• Frequently reach above shoulder level to lift or otherwise move objects that weigh 75 - 85 lbs.
• Endure extreme temperatures, extreme noise and distractions
• Ensure a safe and clean work environment by continuously maintaining work area by performing cleaning duties such as sweeping, detail cleaning, etc. as needed
• Perform responsibilities of other positions as requested by Supervisor and/or Site Manager

• Provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen
• Consent to a criminal background screening
