Forklift Operator, Material Handler
About the Role
We are looking for a Forklift Operator for the 2nd and 3rd shift at our durable goods manufacturing facility in Atlanta, Georgia. This role is critical for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials, thereby contributing to overall productivity and operational success.
Key Responsibilities- Operate forklifts to load, unload, and transport raw materials, finished products, and supplies.
- Collaborate with warehouse and production teams to maintain smooth workflow and inventory accuracy.
- Ensure safety and adherence to all company protocols while operating heavy equipment.
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials between storage, production, and shipping areas.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring materials are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklift equipment and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of materials moved and assist with inventory management.
- Follow all safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a secure work environment.
- Coordinate with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks and meet production deadlines.
- Assist in organizing warehouse space to optimize storage and accessibility.
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Minimum of 2 years experience operating forklifts in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Ability to work the 2nd shift schedule reliably.
- Basic understanding of warehouse safety standards and protocols.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, standing, and operating machinery for extended periods.
- Experience in durable goods manufacturing or similar industry.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
- Additional certifications related to workplace safety or equipment operation.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented environment.
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills to coordinate with multiple departments.
