Position: Program Manager, I-Corps
Morehouse College, as a core partner in the newly established National Science Foundation (NSF) I-Corps Southeast Hub, is seeking a highly organized and mission-driven Program Manager to coordinate and execute Morehouse's I-Corps activities. The Program Manager will be instrumental in supporting innovation, research commercialization, and entrepreneurship education for students, faculty, and community members at Morehouse and throughout the region.

This role will also help participants identify and pursue follow-on funding opportunities, including SBIR/STTR programs, to advance their technologies toward commercialization.

I-Corps will integrate into the Center for Black Entrepreneurship, developed in partnership with Spelman College and the Black Economic Alliance Foundation and work in alignment with the NSF AUC GRANTED initiative to expand research and commercialization across the AUC.

About the NSF I-Corps Southeast Hub:

The I-Corps Southeast Hub, funded by the National Science Foundation, empowers innovators to translate research discoveries into real-world impact through entrepreneurial training and mentorship. Morehouse College serves as a core partner in this regional effort to expand the economic impact of academic research and development.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree required;
Master's degree preferred in business, STEM, education, or related field.

* Minimum of 3 years of experience in program management, project coordination, or higher education administration.

Preferred Qualifications

* Familiarity with NSF I-Corps, Lean Startup methodology, or innovation-driven entrepreneurship programs.

* Knowledge of SBIR/STTR funding and other early-stage commercialization pathways.

* Experience working with HBCUs.

* Event planning, facilitation, or stakeholder engagement experience.

Preferred Education/Experience

* Advanced degree with an understanding of change management principles.

* Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

* Passion for innovation, entrepreneurship, and supporting underrepresented groups.

* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, cross-institutional environment.

* Proficiency with project management tools and standard software platforms.

Physical Demands

* No or very limited physical effort required.

* Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

* Must be flexible to meet occasionally during evenings and work may be required frequently during weekends.

* Local and other travel may be required occasionally.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Program Management & Coordination

* Lead day-to-day operations of Morehouse's I-Corps activities, including cohort management, communications, and program delivery.

* Manage program calendars, application processes, participant tracking, and reporting requirements.

* Organize and support I-Corps Short Courses, workshops, and entrepreneurial training events hosted by Morehouse.

* Serve as the primary liaison for Morehouse participants, mentors, instructors, and Hub leadership.

Follow-On Pathways & Participant Support

* Guide I-Corps participants in identifying and pursuing next-step opportunities, including SBIR/STTR funding, accelerator programs, and other research commercialization resources.

* Cultivate relationships with regional entrepreneurial support organizations, funding agencies, and innovation programs to connect participants to relevant opportunities.

* Maintain awareness of NSF, federal, state, and private sector funding mechanisms to support participant advancement.

Hub Engagement & Partnership Development

* Represent Morehouse in Southeast Hub leadership meetings and working groups.

* Collaborate with partner institutions to align programming and share best practices.

* Build partnerships with mentors, industry stakeholders, alumni, and ecosystem leaders to support I-Corps teams.

* As part of the Broadening Participation Committee, work to expand access to I-Corps and follow-on commercialization pathways, particularly within the HBCU community.

Outreach, Recruitment & Inclusion

* Lead recruitment efforts for Morehouse's I-Corps programs, prioritizing engagement of underrepresented students, faculty, and community innovators.

* Develop and implement marketing and communications strategies to raise awareness of I-Corps and the Southeast Hub.

* Promote Morehouse's role as a champion for inclusive innovation and entrepreneurship.

Data Management & Reporting

* Track program participation, outcomes, and progress toward commercialization milestones.

* Support NSF reporting requirements and internal evaluations.

* Gather participant feedback and contribute to program improvement efforts.
