Responsibilities

The Clinical Supervisor provides direct patient care and supervises the nursing operations of a unit. In the absence of the Manager or Director may assume 24-hour nursing responsibility. Works with a unit specific patient population.

While we see a diverse patient population, our unit’s primary focus is on general, bariatric, and colorectal surgeries. General surgery cases can include such procedures as appendectomies, cholecystectomies, thyroidectomies, and small bowel resections. Our colorectal surgery population consists of patients with long-standing histories of Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn’s, and diverticulitis or new diagnosis of colon cancer who now require surgical intervention. With this population, the nursing team works closely with our Wound and Ostomy team to give these patients the emotional and physical support they need to recover.

As a Bariatric Center for Excellence, our team provides life-changing weight loss surgeries to patients while providing them with education and emotional support to successfully accomplish this goal.
